This morning we went to a little antique show benefitting the local museum in Three Oaks, Michigan.  Upon entering the tent I felt a gravitational pull both undeniable and unavoidable - the first table was covered with the most beautiful french pastries you have ever seen outside of Paris.  Piles of chocolate filled croissants, almond filled pies with crisscrossed crusts, cheese crepes and glossy fruit tarts.  I let out a little gasp and said, “oh-la-la”.  I didn’t take my eyes off the tart tatin as I reached for Alex to get some cash share in the experience.  At the same time a glowing young nun whipped around with a gleeful smile. All of the baked goods are made by the sisters of St. Roger Abbey in Chicago.  They create these beautiful confections in the traditional French way and use the monies to cover the costs of their convent and to serve the poor.  They ship too!
